Sir Paul McCartney, and friends perform in benefit concert for the David Lynch Foundation,
New York City, 4 April 2009

On 4 April 2009, Sir Paul McCartney performed at New York’s Radio City Hall in a benefit concert for the David Lynch Foundation, alongside musicians Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, Sheryl Crow, Moby, Donovan, Ringo Starr, Ben Harper, Mike Love, Paul Horn and others. The “Change Begins Within” concert has raised awareness for the David Lynch Foundation’s global initiative of teaching one million schoolchildren worldwide the Transcendental Meditation Programme. Sir Paul, who learned TM in 1967, will co-chair the event.

The concert has raised funds to teach one million at risk children the Transcendental Meditation technique, giving them life-long tools to overcome stress and violence, and promote peace and success in their lives. Over the last few years, over 60,000 children around the world have learnt TM through the support of the David Lynch Foundation. Over one hundred schools in New York city are interested in incorporating TM into their curriculum's.
